Alder's Response to COVID-19

Along with our peers in Teacher Education, Alder GSE is adjusting its program to meet the needs of stakeholders given the many repercussions of the COVID-19 virus, specifically school closures and testing center closures. To date we have:

  • Moved all clinical work and graduate coursework to online formats
  • Supported residents and mentors to continue developing as educators in an online format
  • Shared news and updates with our community to ensure everyone is up to date and responding to changes in the community, including changes to testing requirements for current residents
  • Postponed all testing deadlines for incoming residents

It is our hope that in this difficult season we might see the best parts of who we are emerge in response to challenges (and opportunities). It is our fervent hope and goal to support all of our current and future residents to achieve their dream of becoming excellent teachers. Now more than ever, we are actively working toward our mission: To create opportunity and cultivate success for every student by recruiting and educating excellent teachers and leaders who reflect our schools’ communities.
