Christina Kruse-Pennes, MA

Coordinator, MPUSD Teacher Residency at Alder GSE

Christina’s 22 years of experience in the teaching/coaching profession span grades TK–high school. Her classroom teaching began in Richmond, California, where she worked with transitional kindergarten through sixth-grade students for 17 years. During this time, she piloted and worked to develop the district’s transitional kindergarten program. She was the Head Varsity Coach for both boys and girls at a local high school for track and field and cross-country for six years. Upon moving to the Monterey Peninsula in 2014, she began working with the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District as a TK and Kindergarten Teacher. Her classroom teaching has always included instructional leadership, beginning teacher coaching/mentoring through a variety of programs, and PBIS Lead Coordinator. Her school site proudly reached the gold level of implementation (2019).

Christina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work Education from San Francisco State University, a Teaching Credential from California State University East Bay, and a Master’s degree and Administrative Credential from Concordia University, Irvine.
