Izamary Rios is a first-generation college student who received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Minor in English from Colorado Mesa University and a Master of Arts in Urban Education with an emphasis in Digital Learning from Loyola Marymount University. In 2018, Izamary joined Teach for America and became a bilingual First-Grade Teacher. She taught first grade for three years and then proceeded to teach second grade for a year. Izamary feels very passionate about achieving equitable education for all our kids, and she truly believes it starts with diversifying our teachers, supporting them, and equipping them with the right tools.
