Katie Holz’s career in education started when she was an undergraduate studying the history of the American education system at Brown University. Determined to learn more about the systems in action, she earned a Master’s in Education from Stanford University and became a History Teacher in San Jose. Katie taught ninth-grade history and mentored students in grade levels 9–12 before focusing her work more on research and instructional coaching. To do this, she joined her organization’s Research and Development team as a site-based Research Manager, where she honed her qualitative and practice-based research skills. Katie constantly seeks to bridge the worlds of practitioner and researcher in her work and to infuse that work with teacher professional growth, wellness, and sustainability.
