Laura Hernandez-Flores

Director of Strategy and Partnerships

Laura Hernandez-Flores is Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Alder GSE. Prior to joining Alder, Laura was Vice President of Programs and Partnerships at New Teacher Center, where she served as a strategic thought partner with various K–12 partners across the country, including district leadership, consortiums, universities, departments of education, and the philanthropic sector to build and sustain robust mentoring and coaching systems for teachers to provide equitable student learning opportunities. She mentored and supported in-service teachers at the Claremont Graduate School of Education prior to joining the nonprofit sector. Laura held various leadership roles, including partnering with LAUSD to accelerate student outcomes and providing wraparound services for three large urban schools in South Los Angeles. She started her career teaching in secondary settings in the Greater Los Angeles area. Laura earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, her MA in Secondary Education and Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University, and her BA from UCLA.
