Monica Bonny

Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Monica Bonny has over twenty years of finance, strategy, and operations experience across the nonprofit, education, and private sectors. Prior to joining Alder Graduate School of Education, Monica led the comprehensive restructuring of the after-school program at Canal Alliance, a resource center for low-income Latino immigrants, to align with the goal of ensuring college completion for students. Prior to that, Monica served as an elected school board member for eight years, including three as President; a Project Manager for Deloitte Consulting, where she managed operations improvement projects for manufacturing clients; as an Underwriter for GE Capital, where she performed financial due diligence on large-scale power plant project financings; and as a Research Assistant for the Federal Reserve Board, projecting federal tax revenue for Federal Open Market Committee meetings. She currently serves on the board of Enriching Lives through Music, a nonprofit that provides music instruction to low-income students. Monica has also served as Co-Chair of the Marin Promise Partnership, a collective impact initiative aimed at closing the achievement gap in Marin County, and as Treasurer of the Buck Institute for Education. When a young child, Monica spent her formative years in Latin America and is a native Spanish speaker. She earned a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Wharton in Finance.
