Sarah is a Sacramento native who moved to the Monterey Bay area in 2005. She started her teaching journey as a Kindergarten teacher in Monterey Bay Unified School District. Throughout her time in MPUSD, she held roles as an instructional coach, 6–8 Mild-Moderate Special Day Class Teacher, Middle School Assistant Principal, and Elementary Principal. She will be transitioning to her new role as Director of Teacher Development in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District.
As an equity leader with a bias toward action, Sarah is currently working with Harvard GSE as part of the Deeper Learning Dozen and serves on the Region 10 Monterey County Equity Team. With a theory of action that revolves around the powerful symmetry of student and adult learning, Sarah actively engages in creating and modeling reflective, experiential, and relational learning experiences for adult learners to build the capacity of the organization and its classrooms.
