Originally from Los Angeles, Sebastian Franco grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before moving to Colorado to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Colorado State University. As a college student, Sebastian worked as a student ambassador in the Admissions Office and mentored first-generation students through the Latinx cultural center—El Centro.
Following graduation, Sebastian served as a Professional Development Fellow with Public Allies, a branch of AmeriCorps, at Eagle Rock School & Professional Development Center in Estes Park, CO. There, he facilitated professional development workshops for teachers in underserved communities across the U.S., and he led college and career readiness courses for students at Eagle Rock.
Sebastian later worked as an Admissions Counselor at UC Santa Barbara for over three years before moving to 2U/edX, where he managed a team of recruiters responsible for hiring part-time instructors for software engineering boot camps in partnership with universities across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Europe.
Sebastian is excited to continue his passion for providing access to higher education and supporting future generations of students to become educators in partnership with Alder’s TK-12 residency schools.
