Brenna Jones is one of our Recruitment and Admissions managers. After graduating with an undergraduate degree from Ursinus College in English and Art, concentrating in Education, followed by receiving her Master’s at New York University in English Education, she started her career teaching in Newark, New Jersey. During her time there, she advocated for classroom and school culture to be responsive and supportive of the student body. She became a Lead ELA Teacher of fifth grade and the school’s Culture Manager. She spent a year teaching in the Bronx as a fifth-grade ELA lead teacher and Guided Reading department head. After 6 years in the classroom, Brenna wanted to make a larger impact that affected as many schools as she could. She transitioned to recruiting teachers at Teach For America. As the High Volume Market Lead, Brenna recruited from hundreds of colleges and universities to identify strong classroom leaders who deeply understand the students they would soon teach. Brenna is passionate about our education system and ensuring that we are breaking down inequitable practices in order to build new, anti-racist systems that truly center and reflect our communities. Brenna joined Alder Graduate School of Education to continue with this mission.
