Marlene Gallegos is a first-generation college graduate. She began her journey in elementary education in 2008 and went on to earn her Bilingual Crosscultural Language Acquisition and Development Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. Since then, she has served in various roles, including that of dual-immersion teacher, intern teacher mentor, induction coach, instructional coach, and most recently school administrator. She has delivered professional-development sessions for teachers and families at district-wide parent leadership conferences, covering a wide range of topics. Marlene has been actively involved in Multi-Tiered System of Support and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports throughout her tenure and, in 2022, her contributions led to her recognition as the Monterey County Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Administrator of the Year.

These experiences have solidified her commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments while nurturing the growth of both students and educators. Marlene’s passion lies in promoting collaboration among educators and providing dedicated support to new teachers. She is thrilled to continue this mission at Monterey County Office of Education and Alder.
