Natasha Metzinger serves as a Recruitment and Admissions Manager at Alder Graduate School of Education. She began her professional journey in the non-profit space where she served two consecutive years as an AmeriCorps member with City Year, first as a tutor and mentor to 8th grade students in Seattle, and then as a project leader on the City Year Los Angeles Civic Engagement team where she worked alongside five other individuals to plan and facilitate school beautification projects in collaboration with LAUSD schools, corporate partners, and volunteers. After completing her two years of service, Natasha joined the development team with the Downtown Women’s Center, an organization in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles that focuses on supporting women and gender diverse individuals who are experiencing homelessness. She then returned to City Year to serve on the West Region Recruitment and Admissions team for nearly four years.

As a City Year recruiter, Natasha developed deep connections with both applicants and college partners in Southern California and, in 2019, began working in higher education career services where she has had the privilege of working with the teams at UC Riverside, UC Irvine, and, most recently, Pomona College. During her time in career services, she cultivated relationships with alumni and recruiters to develop internships and full-time opportunities for all students across a variety of industries and appreciated being able to coach and advise students on their career exploration and development.

Natasha grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California and is a proud first gen alumna of the University of California, Irvine where she received her BA in Anthropology with an emphasis in Political Science; in her spare time enjoys reading, crocheting, and getting outside!
