What Is Your Hometown? Cupertino, California

What College Did You Attend? Cal Poly Pomona

What Degree Did You Earn? BA in Liberal Studies

What Inspired You to Teach? I want to positively impact the world. Teaching is such a powerful profession and educators can see the impact they make on their students. Seeing the educational inequities while working in East San Jose, California will push me to be an even more caring mentor to my students. I strongly believe that the meaningful relationships that educators make with their students can motivate students to become active, college-educated global citizens.

Why Did You Choose Alder’s Teacher Residency Program at Aspire Public Schools? I love Alder’s gradual release model; being able to learn from a mentor teacher and attaining strategies to become an effective educator. It is incredibly enriching to learn about theory in my graduate courses while finding out what my personal teaching style will be. I also love getting the classroom experience and being able to apply what I learn from my courses.
