Yumi is an independent educational consultant based in the Bay Area. She began her teaching career in 2005 as a Secondary Special Education Humanities Teacher first for LAUSD, then for SFUSD. She joined Aspire Los Angeles as an Education Specialist in 2011 and went on to become Program Specialist for that region before relocating to the Bay Area in 2016. She then acted as Special Education Director for Caliber Schools, where she spearheaded the development of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports centered on RTI and restorative practices and built an inclusive SPED program with a focus on equity and social-emotional learning.
